Titanium nitride for turret punch molds has a high performance and price ratio, and is used to extend the service life of molds and cutting tools. Its performance is particularly outstanding when cutting softer workpieces such as copper and low carbon steel. Titanium nitride coatings are very hard, golden-yellow in color, and are usually only a few microns in diameter. Compared with uncoated molds and tools, titanium nitride coating can increase the rotational speed and feed rate of the tools because:
A) Higher film hardness.
B) Reduce the friction between the tool and the workpiece, thereby reducing the number of cutting tools required.
